Lucy Mori established her independent consultancy in 2008 to work with business owners and entrepreneurs. Lucy has an informal flexible working style adapted to your pace and scale; she offers a bespoke service to work with you in your office to achieve great results.
Lucy has a unique combination of business skills: as a qualified architect with experience in small (Lynn Davis Architects, Cullum & Nightingale, Berman Guedes) and large architectural practices (Charles Correa, Chapman Taylor) but also an MBA from top Business School Insead followed by professional experience at board level in non-architectural companies (Le Bon Marche Paris, Sephora - both part of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy luxury group) .
Retail has long been a passion since her first job selling curtains in Debenhams, to designing the Oyster Bar in Harrods and the huge shopping centre at Disneyland Paris; at Le Bon Marche she was in charge of developing the first e-commerce website and as UK Country Manager for Sephora she was responsible for 10 stores selling perfume and make-up round the country with a team of nearly 200 sales assistants. in 2014 Lucy was Interim Managing Director at Makower Architects and in 2015 Interim Business Development Director for Edward Williams Architects.
Lucy was born in Oxford, studied at Cambridge University and Insead Business School; she has lived in Texas, Tokyo, Brussels, Bombay, London and Paris ... she is now based in Brussels with her Japanese husband and 2 children. She has loads of architect friends and is always dreaming up new business ideas when she is not cooking or training her fruit trees to grow along the garden walls.

As an ARB qualified and RIBA chartered architect, Lucy has specialised knowledge of the architectural profession and has delivered RIBA CPD training in marketing and business planning and lectured to graduate students at Oxford Brookes University, Birmingham City University, London Metropolitan University, London South Bank University, UCL The Bartlett, London School of Architecture, Museum of Architecture and the University of Cambridge. In 2013 and 2019 she provided RIBA Core Curriculum training in 13 cities round the UK - on Internal Management - Business Planning and Marketing for Architects.
Since 2016, the UK Housing Crisis has been a personal focus and Lucy completed a post graduate diploma in Real Estate at Henley School of Management / Reading University.

In 2018, Lucy completed an 18 month contract for South Oxfordshire District Council as Development Manager for Didcot Garden Town. Lucy led the infrastructure, planning, masterplanning, technology work streams of the Delivery Plan with the objective to transform Didcot into a low carbon ‘smart city’ of 75,000 people by 2031. The focus was on community engagement, housing, place-making, sustainability, mobility, energy, IoT and health. Lucy initiated and facilitated projects including: modern methods of construction, heat networks, autonomous and connected vehicles, MaaS, public open space management, hydrogen as a fuel, renewable energy park. She contributed to bids which won significant funds from UK government to take projects forward. Smart City tech is a key part of the Didcot Garden Town vision and Lucy led on IoT enabled mobility, energy and housing projects.
Lucy is an active volunteer in her home and professional community: she was a Trustee of The Architects Benevolent Society for ten years and chaired the External Affairs Committee with a remit for overseeing fundraising, marketing and communications, she mentored for Fluid Diversity, collected food for the Oxford Community Foodbank, and chaired the retail and business working group of Summertown St Margaret's Neighbourhood Forum between 2013 and 2015.
